This page is a small resource for those people who have the surname Muffett; this is not meant to exclude the interests of other Muffets, Moffets, Moffetts, Muffats, Moffats, Moffatts, etc, but the rare spelling of the name Muffett has always intrigued my branch of the family, and we have for some years been tracing genealogical resources to find out more about our family heritage.

Since that time we have established contact with several other Muffett families worldwide (mostly through the help of various Internet search engines) and have managed to link our family branch with another, separated by five or six generations - Mark Muffett's family, in Bromley, England.

To date, we have also made contact with or discovered Muffett families in:

...and several other areas, chiefly in the USA and Canada; please forgive me if I haven't cited your location, but I am only just starting to get the website organised and haven't sorted out all the details, yet.

There is a small engineering form on the net, S.H. Muffett, based in the southeast of England; apparently their family connections ceased some time ago, but one of the firm's founders lives in the area. Enquiries are proceeding. 8-)

Who carried the Braiteach at Culloden? And after?
A paper by my father David Muffett, regarding derivation of the name "Muffett" from the war-cry of the Clan Fraser, before/during the battle of Culloden. I have converted this document from plain-text, so there may be a few formatting errors. Apologies in advance.

The Maillist I have established a small contact e-mail list: muffett-list; the list is very quiet, receiving only occasional postings every few months, however it seems to be useful, and a nice way to keep all interested parties in touch with each other.
